Release It (What are you waiting for)

This is something I've encountered at points in my career and on the road to development and mastering your craft...creatives have a hard time "letting go" of the Art they created.

We think things like:

  • I know I can get this to sound a little bit better. Maybe I should try something different

  • All this song needs is just 1 more thing to make it perfect

  • I'm not "in love" with the performance the Guitar player recorded (always either the guitar or the drummer...just kidding' guys/gals). Let's try to overdub another one in

  • I don't feel like this song will be right until I've recorded a video for it as well

  • Maybe we should break this entire production down to the "bare bones" and re-work the song.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

and...

NO AGAIN!!!

DO YOURSELF A HUMUNGOUS FAVOR

Get your music out there into the universe.

I've seen it happen over and over again.

Artist/Producer debating over whether to release.

There's no debate...getting your music out into the world is the single best thing you can do.

You will have a sense of pride because you were able to start something from its inception.

Something you nurtured and that creation should be heard (seen) to deliver that message to whoever relates to it.

By "sitting on" our music, we deprive it of the very thing we want the most...to identify and connect with the people who want to connect with you and your music.

Not to mention, we deprive ourselves on the financial end, on the exposure end, on the networking end.

Try it this week!!!

Grab a song you've had finished for a while and get it out into the universe.

You can thank me later!!!
