Throughout our everyday life, we come into contact with every shape, form, size of individual. So many of us spend an inordinate amount of time comparing ourselves to ALL of these people we come across in our daily lives.
Things like:
I wish I was a few inches taller like "insert person"
I always notice ______ has the most expensive clothes...I bet they look at me and laugh when they see what I could afford
Look at how everything seems to come to ________ naturally...Id give anything to be as smart as they are.
Full Disclosure
I've struggled with this for years and never even knew it.
Always concerned with how you "stack up" to the competition?
Ever found yourself in a situation where you are in the company of a group of people who all have VERY different lifestyles in comparison to yours?
How do you handle that? I didn't handle it so well. It's important to get in touch with your TRUE SELF and accept who you are and rejoice in the fact that you have the power to do whatever you want...
Try Some of These Things to Improve Your Overall Well-Being
Eliminate the Noise: stop listening to what you hear and IMMEDIATELY thinking it's a fact because you heard it. Rather, listen intently and then take the time to evaluate by yourself whether something has "credibility" or not.
Challenge Yourself: make the decision to do something that enriches your life and allows you to experience something OTHER THAN your current surroundings. (ie...go on a trip once a year to a different state)
Focus on Your Strengths...not your weaknesses. Easier said than done, I know, but try to make a real effort to stay on the positive side of the equation. Looking at things positively and focusing on the strengths YOU have ALWAYS supersedes negativity.
